AreYouThere? is a site monitoring program that can be used for a number of purposes. It can be used to monitor a Web site (using http), a server (using ping), a Telnet site (using Telnet), and to check for new email. It can log data so overall site availability can be established, overall performance viewed graphically, and is a convenient way of watching for your favorite MUD to come back on line.

The program is useful both for those who are responsible for keeping these services running and for users who wish to be notified of any changes in any of these services. The tests performed include:

• HTTP: can monitor a Web site, so you can be notified if the site goes down or, if down, when it comes back on line, as well as being notified if the response times become less than or greater than configured values.
• TELNET: can monitor a telnet system, so you can be notified if the system goes down or, if down, when it comes back up. It can also monitor and notify you if the response times become less than or greater than configured values.
• EMAIL: the email monitor, notifying you whenever messages become available, notifying if the mail system goes down.
• PING: can monitor a server, so you can be notified if the server goes down or, if down, when it comes back up , as well as being notified if the response times become less than or greater than configured values.
